Eva Tamsky helps students find freedom of the mind, body, and voice for meaningful music experiences

Some students of the Eva Tamsky Voice Studio have auditioned for collegiate music programs, or professional-level productions. Other students have studied music previously (or perhaps sung in a choir), and have loved to sing as a hobby. Some students have found singing for the first time as a means of self-discovery and personal growth, and were initially unsure of where this journey would take them. Whatever their goal, Eva has helped nurture countless singers as self-sufficient and independent artists with a toolbox of techniques that serve them in a lifelong journey of musical endeavors. She not only uses technical knowledge and experience to craft a confident voice, but she also encourages singers to prioritize their joy and well-being. It is important to her that each of her students knows what to do when they enter a practice room, an audition, or a performance, and even more importantly, knows what they have to offer.

Eva has assisted students in successfully preparing for auditions for selective choral groups, musical productions, pageants, competitions/festivals, summer programs, and collegiate music programs. In addition, Eva seeks and creates opportunities for her students to perform and come together in community. Students have the possibility of joining group voice classes, performing at community markets, singing in studio recitals, competing in music festivals, and other opportunities. Eva is a member of multiple professional organizations including The SpeakEasy Cooperative and The National Association for Teachers of Singing. In 2022 Eva was awarded the Joan Frey Boytim Award, recognizing excellence in independent studio teachers.

With a background in classical singing, Eva specializes in classical and musical theater styles. Eva is a graduate of Westminster Choir College where she completed her Masters degree in Voice Performance and Voice Pedagogy. She earned undergraduate degrees in vocal performance and music education at University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Eva has worked both as a choral music educator and as a voice teacher. Prior to her graduate work, Eva was the choral director of an after school program. She completed her teacher training in middle school and high school choral programs while teaching voice privately. While spending time in the choral classroom, Eva developed a passion for studio teaching and the individual impact that a voice teacher can have on developing artists.

Eva Tamsky is a San Francisco native. Eva and her husband, Nico, have lived in the Princeton/Hamilton area since she began graduate school. They fell in love with the beautiful greenery and warm community and have called it home ever since.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Everyone has a Song to Sing

I am passionate about creating an inclusive studio environment that encourages and celebrates the identities and diverse backgrounds of my students. I believe in creating an environment where students are not only free to learn and engage in the creative process, but also encouraged to bring their authentic selves into their music. You are invited to fully embody yourself.
